Cheesy Garlic Bread Cups That Turn Simple Bread Into a Party Snack

Got some bread sitting in the kitchen and don’t know what to do with it?

Instead of making another ordinary sandwich, turn it into these crispy little garlic bread cups filled with melted cheese.

They’re crunchy around the edges, soft and cheesy in the middle, and perfect as a quick snack, appetizer, or side dish.

What you’ll need

  • 8 slices of sandwich bread
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Black pepper
  • Fresh parsley
  • Optional: chopped cooked chicken, mushrooms, or bell peppers

Prepare the bread

Remove the crusts from the bread slices if you want a softer, cleaner shape.

Using a rolling pin, gently flatten each slice.

Don’t make it paper-thin—you want enough bread to hold the filling without breaking.

Make the garlic butter

Mix the melted butter with minced garlic, Italian herbs, paprika, and a little black pepper.

Brush both sides of each bread slice lightly with the mixture.

The garlic butter is what gives the bread that irresistible toasted aroma.

Shape the cups

Press each flattened bread slice into the cups of a muffin tin.

Gently push the bread down into the center and press the sides against the edges of the cup.

Don’t worry if they aren’t perfectly shaped.

Once they bake, the edges will become beautifully golden and crisp.

Add the cheese
